ABOUT ME
I am a poet, writer and educator from Karachi, Pakistan. I am a second-year MFA Poetry student at The New School, New York, as a Fulbright scholar. In 2021, I was selected to participate in the International Writing Program's (IWP) Summer Institute hosted by the University of Iowa.
I was a runner-up for the 2022 The Bird in Your Hands prize, received an honorable mention in the 2022 Penrose Poetry Prize, and was nominated for Best Microfiction 2023.
I have served as a Poetry Reader for The Adroit Journal and The Inquisitive Eater, as a Manuscript Screener for Alice James Books and Tupelo Press, and as an Editorial Member for One Minute Press, a small, independent press dedicated to Asian and Asian diaspora artists and writers.
I am a 2023-24 Educational Associate at Teachers & Writers Collaborative and a Book Reviews Editor & Learning Designer at Litro USA.
